As it’s a 7 in 1 pressure cooker, it can perform as many other appliances such as a rice cooker or a yogurt maker. You can cook everything from meat, eggs, vegetables, soups and deserts with this excellent tool. Iht as 14 premade settings available to you, selecting and using the different pre programmed options is very simple and you can simply choose to cook the food you desire. Overall this Instant Pot kitchen appliance is in our opinion the best pressure cooker you will come across. It has tons of features and a great build quality. Instant Pot IP-LUX60 6-in-1 Programmable Pressure Cooker
Being slightly cheaper than its competitor the DUO60 the LUX60 is just as good with a little less functionality than the IP-DUO60 offers. The design between both are very similar, and the controls and features are all the exact same. The cooking capacity can vary slightly depending on the exact design you go for. The main difference between the DUO60 and the LUX60 is the build quality of both machines accounting for the $20 or so price difference. The display size varies between them both and the materials vary in the internal build. For the price point it can be described as being the best pressure cooker however it does lack some durability that we believe makes the DUO60 superior.
In conclusion the LUX60 is a cheaper version of the DUO60 and provides excellent features and cooking power for the price point. It comes with a 1 years manufacturers warranty just like all Instant Pot appliances.

Power Pressure Cooker XL Pressure Cooker
The Power Pressure cooker is 70% faster than other traditional cookware. It performs amazingly and provides fast and perfectly cooked food in a very short period of time. It has a digital display with many pre-programmed options to select from, allowing you to cook a variety of food. Alongside the cooker you will also receive some slow cooked recipes, that allow for cooking at 10x the original cooking speed. The lid safely locks and keeps all of your food pressurized inside, and has a manual steam release. We recommend this third to the instant pot cookers, although it is cheaper it doesn’t perform quite as well.
Overall it is an excellent pressure cooker, maybe not the best pressure cooker but definitely in our top 5 and for the price range it is a steal. Power Pressure cookers only offer 60 days warranty, which makes it a very iffy purchase and we would say that the Instant Pot pressure cookers are more reliable.

The Right Pressure For the Perfect Cooking Experience
As we know, pressure cookers work by creating heated steam under high pressure inside the container. This must be just right, neither too low nor too high.
With less than the required pressure, the food inside the cooker stays uncooked. Too high may prove dangerous as the appliance may explode.
This is where the regulator plays its role. What does it do? It controls the pressure in the cooker and maintains it at the right level. The standard required for cooking is usually 15 psi.
Therefore, the regulator is also one of the most important safety features.
The Weighted Valve Regulator
There is a small pipe called the vent pipe on the lid. This vent pipe allows excess pressure to escape from the cooker. The weighted valve regulator is placed on top of this vent pipe.
When the pressure in the cooker becomes more than 15 psi, the excess pushes the weighted valve upwards, letting the steam out through the vent.
While buying a weighted valve regulator opt for one that is removable. This will allow you to examine the vent pipe before you start cooking. Remember, if the vent pipe is blocked in any way, it can prove dangerous.
The weighted valve is the most basic form of regulator on the market. The types that use these are not at all expensive.
The Modified Weighted Valve Regulator
These pressure cookers are priced slightly higher than the ones using the weighted valve regulators. This kind of valve is fixed and not removable. Instead of letting off steam in one single whistle, this valve lets off steam in short continuous bursts.
The Spring Valve Regulator
These regulators cost more than other regulators available in the market. Unlike the weighted valve and modified valve regulator, this one allows you to cook in two different kinds of pressure – 10 psi and 15 psi (just remember that you will be using 10 psi rarely, if at all).
Other Features to Look Out for
All pressure cookers available in the market come equipped with value added features which make cooking with them easier, more convenient. However the more the features, the more expensive it will be. Some features are more useful than others. So while choosing the best pressure cooker for yourself, check the following.
Cooking Rack or Basket
When choosing a pressure cooker, make sure that it is equipped with a cooking rack. The cooking rack is a simple and useful device that allows you to cook food without immersing it in water. For instance, if you wish to steam vegetables, this is a good thing to have.
With the help of this rack, you can also cook different kinds of foods together without the risk of them getting mixed up in a homogenous mess.
Instant Pressure Release
If you are new to cooking and are depending on a recipe book, you will often come across the terms natural pressure drop or cool cooker at once. What they mean is that after cooking, the pressure inside the cooker must be quickly brought back to room atmosphere, considerably reducing the heat inside.
Many of these appliances come with this release function. What it does is, it automatically releases the steam from the cooker into your kitchen (so be ready for some steamy kitchen clouds).
Another way to get rid of it is to place the appliance under cold running water (without opening the lid). This reduces the heat in the appliance pretty fast and cools the steam into water.
Cookbooks may also refer to natural pressure release. By this they simply mean that once the cooking is done, you are to remove the appliance from the stove top and without removing the lid, allow it to cool naturally by itself.
The Layered Base
This is an important feature to look out for if you are buying a stainless steel cooker. The most popular cookers usually have an additional layer of aluminum at the bottom. These bases are easy to clean and provide perfect heating as well.
Cover Interlock and Safety Valve
The steam inside is at very high temperature and pressure. So if the cover is opened suddenly without bringing down the temperature, the hot steam can burn you badly. To prevent such accidents, they come with a cover interlock. The function of this interlock is to lock the lid in till everything inside is normalized and the temperature brought down. It also makes sure that pressure is not built in the cooker before the cover is properly closed.
To avoid mishaps, you must also ensure that the cooker you are buying has a safety valve through which the steam can escape if the regulator gets jammed for some reason.
This may seem unimportant to you, but it surely is a significant part of the design. The handles need to be easy to grasp and manipulate. These appliances (except the 4-quart ones) full of food can be very heavy. So make sure that it has handles on both sides for ease of lifting.
A Few More Things to Remember
Now that you have all the vital features covered, let us look at some of the other things that you need to keep a check on while buying the best pressure cooker for yourself.
This is especially necessary if you have never used one to cook before. For the rookies, they will have to learn new ways to cook old familiar dishes.
An instruction manual can be useful even if you have used it before. The model you are buying now might have some additional features or functions that you are unfamiliar with.
The Price Tag
These appliances are not expensive. There is no reason for you to buy a very expensive model unless it has some exotic feature that you would really like to use. The best pressure cookers, popular models from reputed companies, are priced reasonably and can fit into any budget.
Being a durable machine, this appliance lasts for years at a time. So a manufacturer selling you a quality product will not hesitate to offer you an extended warranty, sometimes even as long as ten years.
