Breville BJE820XL Fountain Duo Juicer Review

If you are in the market for a product that is more than just a juicer (and have the budget for it), the Breville BJE820XL offers, in addition to juicing, the ability to puree your produce for smoothies.  This unit is well suited for those who have a varied diet and will use the machine often.

Large and Powerful 2-in-1 Juicer

Being able to both juice and puree, the Breville BJE820XL juicer is larger than most units as it measures 16.5 inches wide, 17 inches in height and 9 inches deep.  Suffice to say, you will require quite a bit of countertop space to keep it accessible without having to put it away after every use.

Everything about this unit screams big.  It comes with a huge and powerful 1200 watt motor, which can deal with hard to juice fruits and vegetables without putting a strain on the motor.  It can operate in five different speed settings, from 6500 rpm to 13,000 rpm.  There is an LCD screen which allows the user to select the correct setting depending on the fruits and vegetables being used.

Sharp Cutting Discs for Juicing and Pureeing

The BJE820XL utilizes a titanium reinforced stainless steel cutting disc which is razor sharp and does not corrode and get damaged.  The micro mesh filter which surrounds the disc allows for maximum juice, vitamin and mineral extraction.  Also, there is the puree disc included which is used to create smoothies.

Breville BJE820XL juicerThe strength of the cutting disc allows for full-sized fruits and vegetables to be used without having to cut them up or dice them into pieces.  To permit the larger produce, the feed chute is an extra wide three inches. Not having to slice your produce and prepare it is a very sought after time-saving measure when it comes to juicing.

Super-Sized Pulp Container and Juice Jug

This powerful juicer is equipped with a pulp container which holds a whopping 3 liters of waste, making it the largest of its size.  There is also a one-liter juice jug which also has a froth separator, preventing the foam from entering your drinking glass.

No doubt, the large-sized pulp container, and juice jug are both time savers in that they allow for a substantial amount of juice or puree to be created without having to empty out each container.  The large sized pulp container is also instrumental in making sure the cutting disc does not clog with pulp waste while working.

  • Juices and purees by changing the cutting discs
  • Commercial quality stainless steel and titanium cutting disc prevents corrosion
  • Comes with massive 3-liter pulp container and l liter juice jug
  • Easy to use, clean and assemble
  • The chute is extra wide at 3 inches

  • More expensive than a standard juicer

Breville BJE820XL

A Cut Above Standard Juicers

Since the Breville BJE820XL can puree (for smoothies) in addition to juicing, this increased functionality gives it additional value compared to conventional juicers. If you use a standard juicer which does not puree, you will also need an additional unit such as a blender to puree. This also serves as an advantage when having to make sauces.

As to be expected, this unit is more expensive than standard juicers, as it retails for about $300. If you have the budget and the space to accommodate it, this machine is ideal for creating juice and purees.
